The issue is happening in Windows Professional 7 and Windows Enterprise 8. The issue does not occur when Office or is installed through Office , and does not happen when Office is installed through a volume license rather than through This appears to be affecting all copies of Office installed through Office on our domain.
There is no error message, when the item is clicked the mouse just circles, then stops without the applet opening. This behavior started around the middle of last week. So far I've tried repairing Office both quick and online as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Office through The Mail applet in Control Panel started opening again. I uninstalled that version and installed through again, the applet immediately stopped opening again. CPL file does exist, but when I double-click it I get the error "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.
I tried a registry fix from a thread about a similar but not the same issue, adding a mlcfg I can create new mail profiles by running outlook. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.
